Rainbow Fun!

We had a great time preparing for St. Patrick's Day! We talked about Rainbows in Science, and wrote about them in our Science Journals. Then we did some fun activities along with making our Leprechaun friends! Have fun looking at our pictures! :)

Click here to watch a cute Full Episode video of The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That! Scroll down to watch the Chasing Rainbows! It has a great Rainbow song on it! :) My son loves "Hat" as he calls it! :)

Here are the Leprechaun's we made! I got the pattern from my mom! They are so cute! :)

Some of our Leprechaun's needed a hair cut! :)

We also made a rainbow! :)

We gathered things in our classroom of each color of the rainbow, and made a rainbow out of them! It was a fun Science activity! :)

Scoop and Count!

I got this adorable Scoop and Count activity from one of my favorite Blogs Can Do Kinders! The kids had a great time counting the snowballs (marshmallows) and writing their numbers! This was a great practice to write teen numbers too! Enjoy! :)

About Mrs. Spanhut! :)

Me on my first day of Kindergarten! Don't you love my mullet! :) Ha! :) It was the style you know!!!! :)

Hi friends! I grew up in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa! I'm very proud to be a Panther! :) My mom teaches Kindergarten in Mt. Pleasant, and my Dad is a Technology Coordinator, Co-Athletic Director, and Head Volleyball Coach at the Mediapolis School District. I literally grew up in the gym and classroom. I have so many memories of going to many practices, basketball and volleyball games to support my dad, and also pretending to be a teacher like my mom in her classroom! I have two sisters, Ashlei and Jill. My Mom, Dad, Aunt Lisa, sister, Ashlei, and husband are all teachers! My Grandma Jan taught Kindergarten until she retired, and my Grandpa Larry taught High School History. It was just in my blood to be a teacher! :) I always knew I would be a teacher since I was a little girl, and now I am! :)
I graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College with a BA degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I also attended Indian Hills Community College, and University of Central Missouri.
I am married to my wonderful husband Brian Spanhut, and we have a son named Daxton! Dax is 3 years old and is always happy and full of curiosity! We love it! He keeps us on our toes, and we love watching him grow and learn new things everyday! We also have a daughter, Milly in heaven. She is our angel watching over us everyday. :) Here are some pictures of me and my family!

My family! Brian, Dax, and me!

Our sweet Milly Jan and Dax. :)
Having fun with Dax! :) I LOVE being a Mommy! :)

We got to meet Phineas and Ferb at Disney in the summer of 2011! We are big P&F fans! :)

Happy Groundhog's Day!

We had SO much fun today! We watched a clipping about Groundhog's Day, and then we went outside in this beautiful weather and traced our shadows! We also took our friend, George the Groundhog outside to see if he saw his shadow, and he did! 6 more weeks of winter! :)

George the Groundhog! :)

Here is the shadow of our friend, George the Groundhog!

We were SO excited to see George's shadow! :)

We had fun tracing our shadows! :)

These shadows looked like they were holding hands after they were traced! We thought it was so funny! :)
We LOVE Harry Kindergarten songs! Enjoy this Groundhog's Day video! :)
